Top tenant gripes listed by IREM.

 the IREM survey, the top three demands of tenants in conventionally financed apartments are timely and effective communication from their property manager or management firm (57.1%), followed by privacy/noise concerns (52.9%) and rent relief (41.4%).

Privacy and noise concerns (62.5%) lead the list of demands of tenants in federally assisted housing, followed by timely and effective communication from their property manager or management firm (45.8%).

Demands related to heating and air conditioning in tenant space (33.3%), rent relief (33.3%) and updates in safety and security (33.3%) tied for third place.

Heating and air conditioning in tenant space (78.2%) is the No. 1 demand of tenants in office buildings.

Next is timely and effective communication from their property manager/management firm (54.0%), followed by access to high-speed internet See broadband.  or fiber optics fiber optics, transmission of digitized messages or information by light pulses along hair-thin glass fibers. Each fiber is surrounded by a cladding having a high index of refractance so that the light is internally reflected and travels the length of the fiber  (31.5%).

As with office building tenants, the top demand of tenants in shopping centers is heating and air conditioning in tenant space (52.7%).

Next is rent relief (49.1%), followed by timely and effective communication from their property manager/management firm (43.6%).

Similarly, the No. 1 demand of tenants in industrial/industrial parks is beating and air conditioning (59.4%), followed by rent relief (56.3%) and timely and effective communication from their property manager/management firm (53.1%).

The survey of IREM members was completed by 482 respondents, yielding a 95% confidence level in the data with a 4.4% sampling error.
