Fatah al-Islam, (Arabic: فتح الإسلام, English: Conquest of Islam
 militants from Roumieh Roumieh (Arabic: رومية) is a village north-east of Beirut in Lebanon. Surrounded by pine-forested hills, Roumieh is a 35/40-minute drive from the coast. Roumieh is known as a pleasant, picturesque small mountain town with many gardens.  Prison last week. BEIRUT: Caretaker Prime Minister Fouad Siniora chaired a meeting on the country's prisons on Thursday, after a dramatic attempted breakout by Fatah al-Islam militants from Roumieh Prison last week. Siniora, Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud, Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar and senior security officials attended the meeting at the Grand Serail. After the meeting, Baroud said a "good and constructive" discussion had taken place on the topic of improving prison conditions "on more than one front, especially in terms of logistics, by improving the conditions of [prison] buildings, and in terms of speeding up trials, to prevent any problems that might happen in the future." -- The Daily Star
