Top butcher's meat is pork of the town.
AWARD-WINNING butcher Aubrey Allen has again made the cut after scooping top spot in a national catering competition.
The local business was triumphant in the BPEX BPEX Battle Planning Experiment Foodservice Pork pork, flesh of swine prepared as food, one of the principal commodities of the meatpacking industry. Pork has long been a staple food in most of the world, although religious taboos have limited its use, especially among Jews and Muslims. Product of the Year competition 2012, which recognises and rewards quality pork products and dishes that can be found on menus in pubs, restaurants, schools and hotels.
The Coventry-based catering butcher picked up a gold award for the 'Pork Leg Fillet', which was also selected by judges as winner of the Fresh Pork Cut category. They also collected one further gold and five silver awards for other categories.
