Seventy awards in 29 different categories were handed out by OC/PRSA to top Orange County public relations practitioners and firms. A variety of businesses from industries such as automotive, sports, real estate, technology, transportation, education, healthcare, and trade/professional organizations were all recognized for the best public relations work of 2004 in Orange County. The awards recognized outstanding performance in categories ranging from community outreach, multicultural and media relations programs to communication collateral materials and multimedia presentations, and -- for the first time in 30 years -- a Best in Show was awarded. Porter Novelli of Irvine took this top honor for their work on the Monrovia Nursery Master Plan titled "Yes Azusa, Azusa Si." Her dedication to the field of public relations has advanced the excellence of the communications industry, and her work as OC/PRSA's Community Service Chair has garnered industrywide praise. Jordan Kaye of Chapman University; Laura Amarillas-Moreno of California State University, Fullerton California State University, Fullerton, commonly known as CSUF, CSU Fullerton, or Cal State Fullerton, is a part of the California State University system.
