Top Intelligence Analyst Arrested as a Cuban Spy. (Insider Report).

The case of Cuban agent Ana Belen Montes mon·tes

has not received much media attention since she was arrested 10 days after the September 11th terrorist attack on America. Ms. Montes was, since 1992, the top intelligence analyst on Cuba for the Defense Intelligence Agency Noun 1.  since at least 1996. Montes, however, had been working in sensitive areas of the Pentagon for 16 years prior to that. Was she spying for Cuba during that time as well? Even if she weren't an agent for Castro during that earlier period, she was acquiring important knowledge of our defenses, personnel, policies, and weaknesses that she certainly would have transmitted to Havana after formally joining Cuba's spy network.

was in a position to affect policy and divulge information that could greatly harm U.S. security and greatly benefit Castro and any third parties with which he might share intelligence: Russia, China, Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc. She is accused of identifying at least one American undercover agent to the DGI, disclosing a top secret intelligence-gathering program, and reporting on American training in the Caribbean.

The extent of the damage Montes has caused may turn out to be far greater. Of key concern is her possible role in the September 11th terror strikes. "I could see the Pentagon burning from my office," Montes wrote to a friend in an e-mail. Did she help direct that attack and the one on the World Trade Center? In the days before and after these assaults, Montes made multiple coded telephone calls to her DGI masters -- via the Cuban mission at the United Nations. Castro had recently completed his Middle East tour of terror states, and while in Iran had told cheering crowds, "Together we will bring America to its knees." It's no secret that Cuba's UN mission is a DGI spy nest and that it has been used to direct terrorism. During the 1970s, Puerto Rican terrorist Filiberto Ojeda Rios was given diplomatic cover at the UN, from which position he directed the FALN FALN Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional (Armed Forces of National Liberation, Puerto Rico)`  terror bombing Terror bombing is a strategy of deliberately bombing civilian targets and strafing civilians in order to break the morale of the enemy and make its civilian population panic.  campaign.
