In a global survey of five-star hotel hiring managers in 2010, market research firm Taylor Nelson Sofres Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) is a global market research group, active in over 70 countries and employing 14,000 people.

TNS conducts custom research business in key industry sectors, including Healthcare, Automotive, Technology, Finance, Consumer as well as Polling and Social.

The potential respondent database comprised of more than 50,000 hospitality professionals working in more than 70 countries.

1. Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland

The Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (English: Lausanne Hotel School), was founded in 1893 and is recognised as the world's first hotel school.

Founded in 1922 at the request of leading hotel magnates and the American Hotel Association, the Cornell School of Hotel Administration has a rich history.

The founders wanted to create a first-rate academic institution providing a field of study for the 'science' of running hotels and restaurants.

It began with 21 students under the direction of a single professor, Howard B. Meek.

As the only Ivy League (top US University) programme in hospitality management, the school offers a curriculum that addresses all of the aspects of running a business - strategising and planning, design and construction, financing and marketing, as well as management and operations.
