COURSES IN CANADA FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE

Companies that need to train employees in English or in French have two choices: Give group or individual courses on site, internally, or send candidates on immersion courses abroad.

Many companies choose the first option, but find they don't get the results they need.

"We've seen a lot of cases, in Mexico, Brazil and elsewhere, where internal courses weren't productive," says Yves Bouchereau, president of Bouchereau Lingua International (BLI) in Montreal. "Even after three, four and five years of courses, many employees still haven't reached a functional level. There is little return on the time and money invested, and motivation is very low."

Then, once they have reached the intermediate level, they should be sent to immersion to perfect their mastery of the language. Immersion should conclude their language training and bring them up to a functional level. However, the course should be fully tailored to the needs of the candidate and the company (vocabulary, work situations, specific objectives, etc.).

BLI offers immersion courses in business English Business English is English especially related to international trade. It is a specialism within English language learning and teaching; for example, the teachers' organisation IATEFL has a special interest group called BESIG.  and French, in Canada, in its centers in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. With 26 years of experience in the corporate, business and professional world under its belt, BLI brings most of its clients to this functional level. The linguistic problem is solved, once and for all.

"The investment is no higher, and it delivers better results, faster," confirms Bouchereau. "Improvement in employee performance will be of immediate benefit to both employer and employee." For more information: E-mail: montreal@bli.ca and quebec@bli.ca. Web site: www.bli.ca
