Tooling innovations on display at AWFS Vegas.

Gladu was founded by Jean Gladu in 1969, in the basement of his home. The company soon relocated and, by the mid 1980s, Gladu Tools had expanded its offerings to include diamond and indexable insert tooling. By 1988, the company had grown to become Canada's leading manufacturer of diamond tools for woodworking.

Gladu's entry into the U.S. market in 1989 created a unique challenge, and it became committed to delivering to U.S. customers the same level of personal service and support offered to the Canadian markets. Gladu assembled an elite team of tooling engineers, machinists and designers and invested in the world's most advanced design and CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) See numerical control.

manufacturing systems. Through a corporate philosophy of excellence and continuous improvement, nearly every problem encountered has resulted in refinements and improvements of basic tool designs or totally new concepts in tooling. The company's timing and ability to recognize opportunities led to the introduction of SU diamond cutters, SpiraMax helicoidal Hel`i`coid´al

SOME OF GLADU'S INNOVATIONS

New Generation Hogger: Eliminate chipping along or with the grain and blowouts in the corners with this new generation hogger. Its staggered inserts at multiple diameters create smaller chips. This requires less cutting force and makes the aspiration of the chips easier, which prevents chip buildup build·up also build-up

ProFlooring: Gladu's new generation of heavy-duty tooling gives users better control over the production quality. Developed to resist the abusive environment of the hardwood flooring industry, the ProFlooring tool guarantees a consistent quality, better profile precision and a prolonged life span for the knives. These tools are equipped with a new clamping system that is faster and easier to use, resulting in reduced downtime The time during which a computer is not functioning due to hardware, operating system or application program failure. .
