Tomkins Shareholders Approve EGM Resolutions.


LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1997--Tomkins PLC (NYSE NYSE

:TKS), the international manufacturing company, announced that its shareholders passed each resolution proposed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held earlier today. Consequently the ordinary dividend of 8.39 pence declared on July 7 will be paid on October 6 as a Foreign Income Dividend to ordinary shareholders on the register on August 15.

Tomkins comprises a broad range of low-risk technology manufacturing companies. Tomkins' US interests include The Gates Rubber Company, Denver, CO, the world's leading manufacturer of power transmission belts and a major producer of hose and connector products.
