Tom Upton Joins Fujitsu as Vice President, Managed Services; Technology Veteran with 29 Years Experience to Lead Multi-Vendor Lifecycle Services Team.

 -- Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has appointed Tom Upton as vice president of managed services An umbrella term for third-party monitoring and maintaining of computers, networks and software. The actual equipment may be inhouse or at the third-party's facilities, but the "managed" implies an ongoing effort; for example, making sure the equipment is running at a certain quality . Reporting to Ed Soladay, COO, Upton will provide leadership to the team that services equipment from Fujitsu and third-party vendors.

Upton, previously executive vice president of services and operations at Wincor Nixdorf Wincor Nixdorf (FWB: WIN) is a corporation that provides retail and retail banking hardware, software, and services. Wincor Nixdorf is engaged primarily in the sale, manufacture, installation and service of self-service transaction systems (such as ATMs), retail banking equipment , is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and setting standards for performance levels of Fujitsu's managed services including field services, logistics, procurement and desktop services.

Prior to Wincor Nixdorf, Upton was president of the global distribution division and board member at Boundless Corporation, where he managed worldwide sales for the $150 million network computing Storing and/or running applications in servers in a network.
