An interdisciplinary field in which the principles, laws, and techniques of engineering, physics, chemistry, and other physical sciences are applied to facilitate progress in medicine, biology, and other life sciences.
Research Organization (TUBERO TUBERO Tohoku University Biomedical Engineering Research Organization (Japan) ), in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and Cardiff University, has verified that neural cell species can be derived from mouse embryonic stem cells.

Specifically, the partners have succeeded in inducing most of neural cell species including neurons and glia cells from mouse embryonic stem cells. This achievement will lead to applications in human embryonic stem cells, shedding light on pediatric pediatric /pe·di·at·ric/ (pe?de-at´rik) pertaining to the health of children.

pe·di·at·ric
adj.
Of or relating to pediatrics.
 cerebral palsy.

Details of the research are available in an online version of the scientific magazine STEM CELLS under the title, "Embryonic stem cell derived neural progenitors display temporal restriction to neural patterning."
