Todd scores four as Sheldon clinches.

GRANTS PASS - Zach Todd scored four touchdowns as fifth-ranked Sheldon clinched at least a share of the Southwest Conference title and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs with a 42-7 win over No. 8 Grants Pass Friday night at Grants Pass High School.

Sheldon (8-1 overall, 4-0 SWC) scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28-0 lead at halftime.

The Irish cruised to their 55th consecutive league victory, which equals Marshfield's streak from 1994-2000 as the second-longest league winning streak in state history.

Sheldon can wrap up the outright conference championship with a victory at South Eugene next week in its final game of the regular season.

Todd scored on a 14-yard run in the first quarter before Brandon Baker made it 14-0 with a nine-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Irish quarterback Jordan Johnson threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Matt Carman, and then Todd added a 57-yard scoring run before halftime.

Todd returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, and capped the scoring with a 66-yard touchdown catch from Johnson.

Todd ran 13 times for 109 yards and added three catches for 99 yards for Sheldon.

Johnson was 8-for-9 for 152 yards.

North Medford 46, South Eugene 35: Jordan Ellis completed 22-of-30 passes for 302 yards and five touchdowns, and also carried the ball 16 times for another 103 yards as the host Black Tornado eliminated the Axemen from playoff contention.

Almeir Barlow caught seven passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and Isaac Silafau caught six for 92 yards and two more scores.

Teammate Quinton Walker caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.

Axemen quarterback Dustin Haines completed 12-of-27 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and ran 11 times for 78 yards to lead South Eugene.
