To help mark its 200th anniversary, DuPont, Wilmington, Del., has launched a new Internet site http://heritage.dupont.com that offers a wealth of information on the company's history, scientific achievements and innovations. On the site, users can find information on the founding of DuPont, the people who have helped bring "the miracles of science" to the world, and the history of a variety of DuPont products and services. An interactive timeline begins in 1802 with company founder E. I. du Pont Du Pont (d pŏnt), family notable in U.S. industrial history. The Du Pont family's importance began when Eleuthère Irénée Du Pont established a gunpowder mill on the Brandywine River in N Delaware. Development, expansion, and family control of E. I. and highlights 80 milestones of the company's first two centuries.
