To choose or not to choose.

THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR TITLED "REST OR WORST?" in the November 2006 issue was such a sad commentary on the lack of will of some African Americans African American Multiculture A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa. See Race. . We cannot continue to blame other people, institutions, etc., for what we as a people do to ourselves. Companies such as McDonald's, with its variety and high-quality ingredients (oftentimes of·ten·times   also oft·times

Frequently; repeatedly.

Adv. 1. oftentimes - many times at short intervals; "we often met over a cup of coffee"

I would suggest that the next time the writer of that letter visits a McDonald's restaurant, she ask for the wealth of information regarding the nutritional content of McDonald's products and observe the many available choices.

As an African American, I--and many of my peers--commend BLACK ENTERPRISE for identifying companies whose success reflects their commitment to diversity, and I look forward to your annual diversity list. Those are the companies we should use our collective choice to support with our business, for they also hire many of our college graduates and sponsor a great majority of African American events, scholarships, and internships.
