The PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER was scheduled to arrive in New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded  on September 7 for a residency at Tulane University History

In March the pair, known for their contagiously joyful group works, re-envisioned the project as a collective response of survivors to the tragedy. Katrina, Katrina: Love Letters to New Orleans, debuted at the American College Dance Festival Association in Austin, TX, performed by Tulane students and faculty. Through dance, spoken word, and video, the "live documentary" depicts the experiences of the New Orleans people. "It focuses not just on the overwhelming loss, but on the immense love people feel for their city," says Pearson.

A full-scale production is planned for Spring 2007 at the Contemporary Arts Center The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) is a pioneering contemporary art museum located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The CAC is a non-collecting museum that focuses on new developments in painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art and new media.  in New Orleans.
