, shows that domestic travel among African Americans has steadily increased over a two-year period. The report reveals that in 1999, business travel accounted for 21% of travel among African Americans, the same percentage rate as the average U.S. traveler. However, the data cites conventions and seminars as a more popular form of business travel among African Americans than the average U.S. traveler.

African American travelers also appear to be more budget savvy than their counterparts. The average trip spending is $407 for African Americans, compared with $438 for the average U.S. traveler.
