Ducks' Abildtrup earns Pac-10 track honors

Oregon's Sofie Abildtrup, a junior sprinter from Denmark, on Tuesday was named the Pac-10 Conference women's track athlete of the week.

Abildtrup won the 400 meters in 54.49 seconds, won the 200 in 23.94 and anchored the Ducks' winning 4x400 relay team as Oregon prevailed over Minnesota, Washington and Colorado in the Pepsi Team Invitational at Hayward Field For other uses of "Hayward", see Hayward (disambiguation).
Hayward Field at University of Oregon is one of the most well-known historic track and field stadiums in the United States. It has been the home to the University of Oregon Track and Field teams since 1919.

Hoz de Vila earns spot on Bolivia Fed Cup team The Bolivia Fed Cup team represents Bolivia in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Federación Boliviana de Tenis. They currently compete in the Americas Zone of Group II. History

Oregon women's tennis player Moncia Hoz de Vila will participate for the Bolivian team at the Fed Cup in Campinas, Brazil, starting April 23.

Hoz de Vila, from La Paz, Bolivia, will play for a team that will compete against Chile, Jamaica, Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago Trinidad and Tobago (trĭn`ĭdăd, təbā`gō), officially Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, republic (2005 est. pop. 1,088,000), 1,980 sq mi (5,129 sq km), West Indies. The capital is Port of Spain.  in the Americas Zone Group II competition.

The winning team will compete in the Americas Zone Group I competition.

Hoz de Vila is 11-6 overall this season for the Ducks, who end their season this weekend.

Marist's Macha signs

with Seattle Pacific

Marist's Drew Macha, the state Class 3A player of the year, has signed a letter-of-intent to play soccer at Seattle Pacific next season.

Macha led the Spartans to the Sky-Em League title and a state quarterfinal berth.
