An international business development conference, Tire Fillers and Reinforcements 2001, sponsored by Intertech, will be held January 29-31 at the Wyndham Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale Fort Lauderdale (lô`dərdāl), residential, commercial, and resort city (1990 pop. 149,377), seat of Broward co., SE Fla., on the Atlantic coast; settled around a fort built (c.1837) in the Seminole War, inc. 1911. , FL.

This conference will bring rubber filler and reinforcement manufacturers together with tire industry executives and technologists to explore the changing roles of carbon black, surface treated precipitated silica, other tire filler reinforcements and the outlook for growth, supply and demand of these materials and applications.

In addition, two optional pre-conference workshops are planned and will discuss market drivers for green tires and the latest innovative technology.

Pioneered by Michelin, RhonePoulenc (Rhodia) and Degussa in Europe, the green tire is said to have created a boom for silica and silane silane
