Tire industry conference planned.The 22nd Annual Tire Industry Conference, sponsored by Clemson University, will be held March 15-17 at the Westin Resort in Hilton Head, SC. The conference is aimed at the domestic and international tire industry, including suppliers and allied industries. This conference will focus on the ever-chainging facets of the tire industry and the resultant consequences to the tire and automotive manufacturers and consumers. The conference will feature 21 presentations delivered by experts in their respective fields. Representatives from the primary tire manufacturing industry, academia, government, and tire and vehicle interests will speak. Attendees will learn what experts have to say about the impact of financial markets and the economy on the tire industry, the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics and what the industry is doing to address tire safety issues and tire consumer concerns. Additionally, participants will examine the status of several tire monitoring technologies and discover the effect of oversized tires on vehicle safety.
