Tira's Jump Mobile Application Porting Service to

Enable Babel Customers to Rapidly Bring Applications

to Market for a Wide Variety of Java-based Handsets

Tira Wireless, a premier wireless application publisher and technology provider for the J2ME(TM) marketplace, and Babel Media, an award-winning global games services specialist, today announced that the companies are collaborating to bring together Tira's Jump mobile application porting service with Babel's localization and testing processes in a single offering.

Under the terms of the agreement signed between the two companies, Babel will add Jump to its existing localization and testing services, which include application translation and quality assurance, to create an end-to-end service offering. This end-to-end service offering, the first in the mobile application industry will significantly reduce the time to market and costs across the mobile application value chain. While Babel will be responsible for marketing the Jump service to its customers, Tira will fulfill the Jump orders taken by Babel.

The Tira Jump service is based on Tira's breakthrough proprietary Jump technology, which is the first of its kind to address the issues of application compatibility across Java-enabled handsets. The Tira Jump platform delivers time to market savings by enabling developers and publishers to rapidly port J2ME applications to a broad selection of popular handsets in multiple languages, meeting operator specific requirements without having to rewrite code. By working with a single reference application, creating new versions for languages, operators and devices can be done quickly. This cuts the costs involved with manually porting games for deployment on multiple handsets in multiple languages, and provides benefits in source code management by eliminating the need to manage multiple versions of code for the same game.
