My kids get a workout while they add and subtract A relational DBMS operation that generates a third file from all the records in one file that are not in a second file.. I use two large foam dice, and have partners take turns kicking them as far as they can. It doesn't matter where the dice land, because they can't hurt anyone! Once the partners have their two numbers, they make as many number sentences as possible. For example, if they kick a three and a six, students can calculate 3+6, 6+3, and 6-3. You can try it with multiplication, too. Now, my students get a real kick out of doing math!
