TippingPoint Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:TPTI), the leaders in high-speed intrusion prevention, today announced the immediate availability of its Peer-to-Peer Piracy Prevention (PPPP) capability, which is now included in all UnityOne(tm) Intrusion Prevention Appliances and Systems.

The anti-piracy capability will enable corporations, universities, and government organizations to completely control the unauthorized use of peer-to-peer applications, thus increasing network performance while reducing legal risks associated with file sharing of copyrighted materials. With the anti-piracy features, organizations can block bi-directional or uni-directional peer-to-peer traffic from file sharing applications such as Kazaa, Morpheus, and Grokster among others. The anti-piracy capability is able to distinguish traffic by client, server, IP address and application, and takes action according to policies set by administrators.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is currently using the UnityOne with PPPP.
