Timmins-based entrepreneur receives NOHFC funding for tree nursery.


The provincial government is providing $25,000 to a young Timmins entrepreneur to assist with the acquisition and renovation of a formerly closed tree nursery, according to according to
prep.

 an announcement from Northern Development and Mines Minister Rick Bartolucci Rick Bartolucci (born October 10, 1943 in Sudbury, Ontario) is a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the Sudbury riding. He has been a member of the assembly since 1995, and is currently a cabinet minister in the government of Dalton McGuinty. .

Delivered through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is a division of the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines in the Canadian province of Ontario, whose purpose is to provide funding and program support to foster economic development in the economically disadvantaged Northern Ontario region.  Corporation's Young Entrepreneur Program, the funds will assist with the start-up and equipment acquisition costs of Pizzale Gardens, which will grow trees and plants for sale in the Timmins and Cochrane-area markets.

The amount will also enable the renovation and repair of the business' main building as well as a greenhouse.

"Creating new opportunities for the next generation of northerners to build careers and raise young families at home is critical to the long-term success of our region," Bartolucci, who also chairs the NOHFC NOHFC Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (Government of Ontario, Canada) , stated in a press release.
