Tim Brooks, Senior Vice President, Research, Resigns From USA Networks.


--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1999--

Tim Brooks, Senior Vice President Research for USA Networks announced today that he will be leaving the company to pursue other interests. Brooks, who currently supervises all research projects for USA Network and SCI FI Sci fi may refer to:

 in support of advertising, affiliate sales, programming and marketing, will remain at the company for a transition period.

Stephen Brenner, President, Operations said, "Tim has been a valuable asset to USA Networks. His vast knowledge of the television industry and research expertise has helped both USA Network and SCI FI achieve growth and success over the past several years. I wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Brooks, one of the most often-quoted sources in the television industry, was the first cable industry executive elected as Chairman of the Board of the Advertising Research Foundation. He also broke ground as the first cabler elected Chairman of the Media Ratings Council. Brooks is also an active member of the Committee On National Cable Audience Measurement (CONCAM CONCAM Continuous Camera (international astronomical sky monitoring project) ) and a founding member of the TAP-Latin America Research Committee.

In announcing his departure, Brooks stated, "Television is an exciting business, and I've enjoyed immensely the opportunity to contribute, in a modest way, to USA's growth over the last nine years. It's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  for new challenges, and I look forward to them as well."

Brooks joined USA Networks in 1991 as Vice President of Research and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 1994. While at USA, Brooks was intimately involved in the launch of SCI FI in 1992 and of USA's Latin American and European cable networks in 1994 and 1995, as well as in program acquisition, development and scheduling for the domestic networks.

Before joining USA, Brooks worked at NW Ayer where he served as Senior Vice President/Media Research Director. Prior to that, he worked at NBC-TV in several positions including Director, Program and Advertising Research. Brooks also has worked at Television Advertising Representatives Inc. (Group W); WCBS-TV; and WTEN-TV in Albany, NY and has served as an Adjunct adjunct (aj´ungkt),
