Largest Container Terminal in Mexico Leverages Tideworks' Comprehensive Suite

SEATTLE -- Tideworks Technology([R]) Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions for terminal operators, today announced the completion of its software implementation project at SSA Mexico's (SSAM) container terminal in Manzanillo, Mexico. SSAM's "Terminal Especializada de Contenedores" (TEC) in Manzanillo, the most important and most productive single container terminal in all of Mexico, is now utilizing Tideworks Technology's innovative container terminal management software suite to manage all aspects of its operations and planning, replacing Navis([TM]) SPARCS and Navis Express.

SSAM's dedicated container terminal in Manzanillo handled some 505,300 TEU's in 2005, 63% of the total container volume in the Port of Manzanillo, almost 50% of Mexico's west coast volume, and roughly 25% of the country's seaborne container traffic. The facility anticipates handling approximately 624,000 TEU's in 2006.

The Manzanillo terminal is now managing operations using new, enhanced versions of Tideworks' Mainsail Terminal Management System([R]) (TOS), Spinnaker Planning Management System([R]) (graphical planning for vessel, yard, and rail operations), and Traffic Control([TM]) (electronic dispatch of work instructions and control of terminal equipment). The implementation project included the design and development of new modules within Mainsail, such as a comprehensive billing module for handling complex tariff and rate schedules, a service module for receiving service requests and generating work orders, and a CFS module for handling the functions performed at SSAM's on-dock Container Freight Station. Additional enhancements included new gate functionality, automated manifests, and language localization, which enables the display of many of the user screens in Spanish.

* Robust Rail Planning: The SSAM Manzanillo terminal has on-dock rail and performs more than 100,000 rail lifts per year. Spinnaker's rail planning module, one of the most well-rounded and robust rail planning modules available in the market, provides terminals with full support of Universal Machine Language Equipment Registry, graphical railcar and track management, support of Automatic Equipment Identification readers, and "auto stow" functionality enabling planners to load the train with a click of a mouse.
