BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2000

Technology Validates Membership Status in Real Time, Allowing

Museum Members to Use the Internet to Order Free Tickets to

Blockbuster Exhibition

TicketWeb, the leading provider of browser-based online ticketing software and services, announced today that it has successfully developed and deployed a real-time interface into Blackbaud's The Raiser's Edge(R) software product, the leading fundraising tool for not-for-profit organizations. TicketWeb currently offers the only deployed Internet ticketing interface into The Raiser's Edge product.

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, comprising the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park is the largest public arts institution in the city of San Francisco and one of the largest art museums in California.  (FAMSF FAMSF Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco ) is using the TicketWeb interface to verify membership status for its upcoming presentation of the nationally touring blockbuster exhibit, "Georgia O'Keeffe Georgia Totti O'Keeffe (November 15, 1887—March 6,1986) was an American artist. She is typically associated with the American Southwest and particularly New Mexico where she settled late in life. O'Keeffe has been a major figure in American art since the 1920s. : The Poetry of Things." Members of the museum are able to use TicketWeb to reserve their free, timed-admission tickets for the exhibit via the Internet or TicketWeb's call center.

The interface solves several problems for FAMSF and enables the museum to offer a high and convenient level of membership service. For example, because members are offered timed-admission tickets, the museum now is able to better gauge and control when members will attend the exhibition, alleviating fears that a large group will appear unexpectedly and simultaneously on, say, a Sunday afternoon -- only to be turned away.

The TicketWeb system is also able to shoulder a significant portion of the burden that typically accompanies blockbuster exhibitions. Tasks that were once done manually -- including fulfillment and member verification -- are now being managed automatically by the TicketWeb system. FAMSF management is also able to pull detailed, real-time reports over the Internet, 24 hours a day, to gauge how its membership is responding.

To verify that those who order online are bona fide [Latin, In good faith.] Honest; genuine; actual; authentic; acting without the intention of defrauding.

A bona fide purchaser is one who purchases property for a valuable consideration that is inducement for entering into a contract and without suspicion of being
members of the museum, the TicketWeb system prompts the orderer to enter his or her member number and last name. The TicketWeb system then queries the museum's membership database, which resides at the museum, over the Internet in real-time, a process that typically takes less than two seconds. Once validated, the member can continue with the ordering process.

"This interface is another example of our efforts to stay at the cutting edge of online ticketing and services we provide for our clients," said Andrew Dreskin, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of TicketWeb. "Clients such as museums, arts organizations, non-profits and other membership-based groups that use The Raiser's Edge can now sell tickets and admissions and our software will recognize and verify their members. This gives ticket sellers the opportunity to integrate the special privileges accorded their members, such as discounts and free admissions, into online sales."

This is the second interface recently announced by TicketWeb (the Company announced an interface into the popular Paciolan system at the end of last year) and represents the Company's efforts to provide flexible, innovative online ticketing solutions to as wide a client base as possible. It also represents the Company's push into a broad range of ancillary smaller markets that have not traditionally been the purview The part of a statute or a law that delineates its purpose and scope.

"There is a huge opportunity that is completely untapped in offering registrations, memberships, donations and ticketing for all sizes of activities. Given our leadership position in online ticketing, we feel it is a natural extension to provide our functionality and services to the millions of small businesses, non-profits, associations and individuals that organize events and activities. Over the next several months we intend to launch a number of new features that will open this market up in a manner similar to how we have brought online ticketing to the hundreds of smaller and mid-sized venues we currently serve," said Dreskin.
