Thunder Bay medical research CEO resigns.

After 15 years with the Thunder Bay Thunder Bay, city (1991 pop. 113,946), SW Ont., Canada, on Thunder Bay inlet of Lake Superior. The city was created in 1970 by the amalgamation of the twin cities of Fort William and Port Arthur and two adjoining townships.  Regional Health Sciences, Michael Power The name Michael Power may refer to:

 is leaving to take a job with Elekta as vice-president and managing partner of strategic solutions and business development for North America.

Power is the executive vice-president of the hospital's chronic disease prevention and management. He is the founding CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute and has been a leading figure in the knowledge economy that's been taking shape in Thunder Bay. The institute is a public-private partnership aiming to improve cancer diagnostics through research in molecular imaging technologies for disease prevention, early detection and treatment.

Power has also been instrumental in making connections with other research hospitals and attracting medical imaging companies to Thunder Bay.

He was recognized for his contributions to healthcare innovation in being named to one of Canada's Top 40 under 40 in 2009.
