Thunder Bay growth.


Despite the creation of 1,073 new jobs in Thunder Bay Thunder Bay, city (1991 pop. 113,946), SW Ont., Canada, on Thunder Bay inlet of Lake Superior. The city was created in 1970 by the amalgamation of the twin cities of Fort William and Port Arthur and two adjoining townships.  last year and $11.2 million worth of investment, officials say more needs to be done in the future to nurture NURTURE. The act of taking care of children and educating them: the right to the nurture of children generally belongs to the father till the child shall arrive at the age of fourteen years, and not longer. An annual report released by Development Thunder Bay indicates call centres were one of the biggest growth industries in Thunder Bay in 2000. About 1,150 news jobs were created and $10 million was invested by four call centre companies: Union Gas, Superior Telecomm See telecommunications. , Responsive Marketing Group and RMH Teleservices RMH is a global telecommunications company, purchased in 2004 by NCO Group.

RMH had locations in Saint John, and Oromocto in the Canadian province of New Brunswick as well as in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and Surrey BC.

Development Thunder Bay also focused on aerospace, the health sector and manufacturing and has sent out more than 2,000 proposals to various companies, of which 187 are firm leads.

The focus for 2001 will be on attracting new investment, diversifying the economy and retaining youth in the city.
