Thrifty Car Rental franchisee purchases Dollar Rent a Car.

Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (NYSE: DTG), recently announced that Floyd and Sons Inc., owners of the Thrifty Car Rental franchise in Anchorage, has purchased the Dollar Rent A Car franchise in Anchorage.

Darrell Floyd and Craig Floyd-Thrifty Car Rental franchisees for the last 28 years-have purchased the Dollar franchise in Anchorage previously owned by Terry Parks and Dan Coffey of PVC Inc. Dollar Rent A Car locations included in the sale are an in-terminal store at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport; a hotel location inside Homewood Suites at 140 E. Tudor Road; and a location inside Spruce Park Auto Body at 1730 E. Dowling Road.

"The Dollar Rent A Car franchise will be an excellent complement to our Thrifty Car Rental stores in Anchorage," said Craig Floyd, vice president of Floyd and Sons Inc. The Dollar Rent A Car location at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is open seven days a week, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Dollar Rent A Car features a complete line of DaimlerChrysler vehicles including economy through full-size, SUVs, minivans and 12-passenger vans.
