Three women groped by train pervert; PENSIONER ADMITS ASSAULTS.
A PENSIONER sexually assaulted women as they travelled alone by bus and train, a court heard yesterday.
The 67-year-old, who pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault, chatted to his victims before groping their breasts, Dundalk District Court in Co Louth heard.
Inspector Leo McGinn told the court a 28-year-old woman was sitting on a bench waiting for her train at Clarke train station in Dundalk on November 2006, when the accused sat down beside her and repeatedly fondled her breasts, bum and thigh.
The man also targeted another 28-year-old woman in June last year assaulting her twice and a 27-year-old American tourist in July 2006.
A psychiatric report diagnosed a disorder and stated he felt over-familiar.
Solicitor for the accused said he was a native of Dundalk.
Judge Flann Brennan said the assaults were totally unacceptable but no great harm had come as a result.
He ordered a continuation of psychiatric care and adjourned the case until June for probation reports.
