Three new journals from Springer.Springer Science + Business (New York) will begin the publication of three new journals in the first quarter of 2007, including "NanoEthics," "Journal of Robotic Suregery" and "Arthropod ar·thro·pod (är thr -p d )n. -Plant Interactions." "NanoEthics," a new quarterly to be launched in March, will present a "philosophically and scientifically rigorous examination of ethical issues" and social concern related to nanoscale technologies. Editorial will include articles, reviews and commentary on relevant topics, including: environment and health issues; privacy; human enhancement, implants and cyborgs; human-machine interface; social consequences; the role of intellectual property; risk assessment; nanotechnology in war; the role of values in design; and, research ethics. The new quarterly will include content on the clinical applications of robotics across all surgical specialties with information on emerging technical innovations and techniques. Articles cover such topics as: adult and pediatric urology; cancers; general surgery; gynecological; cardiac and bypass; ENT; orthopedics, reconstruction; neurosurgery; spinal; and, brain surgery. "Arthropod-Plant Interactions" is a quarterly journal that will carry article, reviews and related information with a focus on the ecological, biological and evolutionary aspects of the interactions between insects and other arthropods with plants. Articles will cover chemical, biochemical, genetic and molecular interactions, as well as eco-physiology, stem cell research, legal developments and bioethics. |
