Three new journals from IEEE Computer Society.

The IEEE Computer Society (Washington, D.C.) has begun the publication of two new journals, including IEEE Pervasive Computing and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and will launch a third new journal, IEEE Security & Privacy, with a January issue.

To be published quarterly, Pervasive Computing is targeted to a variety of computing professionals, including hardware designers, wireless engineers, human--computer interaction specialists and software developers. The title covers saturation computing and wireless communications, including wearable and handheld computers, high bandwidth wireless communications, and location sensing mechanisms. An annual subscription costs $45 for IEEE members and $495 for libraries.

Transactions on Mobile Computing is a new quarterly for publishing archival research results related to mobility of users, systems, data and computing as well as issues in information organization and access, services, management, and applications. Editorial emphasizes various aspects of nomadic computing, multimedia applications, mobile data transmission, and systems and networking. The title "will be of interest to readers and authors working in all areas of computer--communication and information technologies," IEEE said. An annual subscription costs $58 for IEEE members and $450 for libraries.

Also, IEEE said it will begin the publication of Security & Privacy with an issue in January. It is being designed to address a range of topics related to securing information and computing resources. It will carry research, case studies, tutorials, and regular departments covering privacy concerns, legal and ethical issues, new tools and products, analysis of vulnerability, secure operating systems, cryptology and applications.
