Three dancers have received Arts Council An arts council is a government or private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts mainly by funding local artists, awarding prizes, and organizing events at home and abroad.  of Indianapolis Indianapolis (ĭn'dēənă`pəlĭs), city (1990 pop. 731,327), state capital and seat of Marion co., central Ind., on the White River; selected 1820 as the site of the state capital (which was moved there in 1825), inc. 1847.  fellowships designed to help artists and arts administrators reenergize their creativity. Marek Cholewa, arts administrator with the Butler Ballet, Rosanna Ruffo, former Indianapolis Ballet Theatre principal and now a member of the Butler University North Western Christian University was the name when the school opened on November 1, 1855, at what is now 13th and College, with no president, 2 professors, and 20 students. In 1875, the university moved to a 25-acre campus in Irvington.  dance faculty, and Stephanie Scopelitis, former Nikolais/Louis dancer and now artistic director of the modern group PROJECT In Motion, were each awarded $7,500
