Bill Steenburgh was recognized for "raising the bar" on customer satisfaction within the services industry and for investing in leadership development, skills training, and technology within Xerox Services. Led by Steenburgh, Xerox Services delivers technical and outsourced business services for Xerox customers in North America. Bill is an 11-year member of AFSMI and president of the Finger Lakes Chapter.

Markus Schwarz was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the Research & Education for Services Initiative driven by AFSMI's German Chapter. For two years, Markus publicly lobbied for dedicated education and research for services. Through his efforts, he gained the support and cooperation of the German federal government and academia, resulting in AFSMI becoming a major player and a recognized partner for the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Sadamu Kumagai, a member of AFSMI's Samuari Chapter, was recognized for dedicating his own time to translating the AFMSI s-business white paper, "S-Business: Defining the Services Industry," into Japanese. Sadamu also translates articles from each issue of AFSMI's Sbusiness journal, allowing them to be shared with members and potential members via the chapter's Web site. His efforts have greatly expanded the range of s-business understanding and appreciation in the Asia-Pacific region.
