Three Firms Roll Out Electric & Hybrid Units.


Injection machines with all-electric or hybrid drive A hard disk drive that contains a built-in, non-volatile cache comprised of flash memory. Reads and writes go through the cache first, enabling the platters to remain at rest most of the time. For laptop computers especially, the less the disk rotates, the less power is used.  systems are in development or newly available from three companies of Mannesmann Plastics Machinery AG in Germany and Switzerland. All will be displayed at K 2001 in Dusseldorf this October.

* Krauss-Maffei (U.S. office in Florence, Ky.) is rolling out its first line of hybrid two-platen machines, dubbed dub 1
