GX Technology Corporation (GXT GXT Graded Exercise Testing (cardiac testing) ) announced today that it recently hired three distinguished geophysicists to act as key technical liaisons with its oil company clients. Nick Bernitsas, formerly of ARCO, Lawrence Gochioco, formerly of Conoco's coal division, and Ian Jones, formerly of Compagnie Generale de Geophysique (CGG CGG Compagnie Generale de Geophysique

) will help ensure that GXT's advanced seismic imaging solutions meet the most stringent requirements of its clients.

Nick Bernitsas recently joined GX Technology's Houston office as Senior Geophysical Advisor. Prior to joining GXT, Bernitsas worked for 10 years in ARCO's research and development department where he was involved in the development and application of tools for seismic imaging, velocity analysis and full waveform modeling. During his last 18 months with ARCO, Bernitsas was assigned to Vastar to guide the development of their depth imaging strategy. Ian Jones joins GX Technology in November as Senior Geophysical Advisor for its London-based European operations. Jones was previously the manager of research and development and depth imaging at CGG. During his 15 years of service with CGG, Jones was instrumental in the development of software for depth and time seismic migration and in the application of CGG technology to client projects involving velocity model building, prestack seismic imaging, 3D AVO a·vo

Lawrence M. Gochioco recently joined GX Technology as Senior Marketing Geophysicist after spending nearly 15 years directing the coal geophysics program for the research and development arm of CONSOL, formerly Conoco Coal. Gochioco's expertise includes the acquisition, processing and interpretation of high-resolution seismic data and other geophysical methods. Gochioco has published nearly a dozen technical papers and articles and serves as a special editor to Geophysics and as an editorial board member for The Leading Edge. Lawrence holds an MS in physics from Ohio University and a BS in physics from Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. Gochioco is a member of the SEG and the SME (1) (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) See SMB.
