Many of the thousands who have already visited the new Flagship, which previewed on May 25, have remarked on the little touches that will make the Orvis Flagship a major New England tourist destination. There are historic fly-fishing illustrations on the walls and displays of antique fishing gear; two 30-ft. working stone fireplaces; and knee-high mirrors for dogs - which are always welcome inside - to admire their furry selves in new collars. Even the store's well-appointed bathrooms - with wood paneling, cushioned waiting chairs, and gold faucets - have drawn raves as being the best store bathrooms in all of New England.

"The new Orvis flagship represents what we're all about - we are purveyors of authentic and distinctive country lifestyle products for people who love the outdoors," says Dave Perkins, executive vice president. "We designed the new Flagship, right down to the smallest details, to make it a facility that will both serve and entertain the thousands of visitors attracted to the region."
