Those bear necessities from Paris; SIX in the City.Byline: JUSTINE MILLSLAST week I was in Paris to continue my buying for the autumn/winter season. It's great to get stuck back in and preview what we'll all be wearing comethe winter. For those forward-thinkers out there, trends that have emerged so far are simple unfussy un·fuss·y adj. 1. This is really practical as it means they can be layered for day wear, with shirts and polo necks underneath, worn with thick ribbed tights and boots, and then dressed up for evening without the layers but with playful accessories. For example, Chloe have done necklaces in bright coloured plastics featuring koala koala (kōä`lə), arboreal marsupial, or pouched mammal, Phascolarctos cinereus, native to Australia. Although it is sometimes called koala bear, or Australian bear, and is somewhat bearlike in appearance, it is not related to true bears, which adds a bit of fun to an outfit. The trend for platform shoes continues, as does accessories in patent leather, so these two things are worth investing in now as they will see you right through the year. As I'm only buying pre-collections at the moment, this is only a hint of what we'll see later in the season, so I'll keep you updated on the real trends as the fashion calendar progresses. As it's awards season at the moment, the Golden Globes, SAG awards and the Grammys etc this is also a good indicator of the forthcoming trends as all the celebrity stylists, along with some of the A-listers, will be front row at the fashion weeks, spotting what they want to wear for these big red carpet events. Celebrity stylists such as Rachel Zoe, who styles the young LA set - Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton et al - will call in these pieces for them to wear. So from runway to celeb ce·leb n. As many of you might know, WAGs Boutique started last week, the new TV show where two sets of rival WAGs battle it out to run the best boutique. I was asked last year to be one of the teams' mentors, but sadly had to turn it down as the filming period was too long. It entailed me going to London every weekend for 13 weeks, which would have been just impossible. Instead I've compromised and will be setting both sets of girls a task to perform. I filmed the profile in the shop last week and will be filming the task on February 15, so look out for me in the coming weeks. Platform shoes will see you right through the year. |
