Thor Breaks Out Password and Audit Software.

Thor Technologies Inc is splitting its Xellerate provisioning software out into three separate products in its latest release to be announced today.

 

The software has been renamed Xellerate Identity Manager 8.0, and two subsets of functionality dealing with auditing and compliance and password management have been broken out into separate products.

 

The company has also ported its product set across to J2EE, meaning Thor "can get out of the application server business" and concentrate on making software for third-party app servers, according to VP of marketing John Aisien.

 

New features of XIM include the ability for users to surrogate their rights and roles to others, for example if they are on vacation, and the ability to provision privileges to services as well as users.

 

XIM 8.0, Xellerate Password Manager 8.0, and Xellerate Audit and Compliance Manager 8.0 will all be available on August 31.
