Thomson Software Products announces new release and pricing structure for Windows Ada development line.


SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 1995--Thomson Software Products has announced a new release and pricing structure for its award-winning ActivAda development environments for Windows, Windows 95 and Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. .

ActivAda is now available in three configurations: ActivAda Personal Edition, $99; ActivAda Professional Edition, $595; ActivAda NT, $995.

All ActivAda products have an easy-to-use graphical IDE and are capable of creating programs for Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT, thanks to bindings for the Win32 and Win32s APIs.

The Personal and Professional editions run under Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, and the Professional Edition also supports 32-bit Extended DOS programs. ActivAda NT runs under Windows NT version 3.5 (or higher) and fully supports mapping to NT threads.

The ActivAda line also integrates with Microsoft Visual C++ libraries and tools, generates Windows DLLs and allows the creation of Windows GUIs with a sophisticated visual programing interface, and includes other tools such as symbolic debugger Software that helps a programmer debug a program by stopping at certain breakpoints and displaying various programming elements. The programmer can step through source code statements one at a time while the corresponding machine instructions are being executed. , management tools for complex and distributed projects, cross referencer, make utility and reformatter.

Development of Ada95 successor products is already under way. The Professional Edition and ActivAda NT also offer a subscription service that guarantees current purchasers an upgrade to the Ada95 products when they are released.
