Thomson Financial launches "Thomson Research" for co. & industry research.

Thomson Financial (New York), a unit of the Thomson Corp., has begun the production of Thomson Research, a subscription-based online information service designed for research professionals and analysts at investment banks, law, accounting and consulting firms. Site licenses and user discounts are available.

Thomson Research is designed to offer company and industry research with access to 3.4 million research reports, with an average of 3000 reports to be added every day. A combination of Thomson's two majore research products, "Research Bank Web" and "Global Access," the new service also provides access to the full Investext analyst research reports, and the Markintel database of industry-specific market intelligence reports.

The service also gives users access to: transcripts of corporate earnings conference calls; Worldscope global financials and accounting results on more than 28,000 active public companies; real-time and historical SEC EDGAR filings; stories from the UK Regulatory News Service and to millions of articles taken from more than 1.300 U.S. and foreign publications; and, I/B IEIS global analyst earnings forecasts, estimates and recommendations for more than 20,000 companies.

Thomson Financial executive Mark Lerch said that Thomson Research "is the definitive source for indispensible and authoritative research on companies and industries worldwide."
