Thompson Publishing Group acquires Sheshunoff Information Services.

 Finkelstein, chairman, recently acquired the Austin, Texas-based Sheshunoff Information Services See Information Systems. , which has provided how-to publications for financial institution professionals for more than 30 years. Its newsletters, books, manuals, and training materials focus principally on legal and regulatory compliance.

Finkelstein, who also owns News Communications Inc., publisher of The Hill in partnership with Hollinger International Inc., acquired Thompson Publishing in May 2004 (NL/NL 5/16/04). Terms of the Sheshunoff acquisition were not disclosed, but we were told that the deal was larger than Finkelstein's purchase of Thompson. No broker was involved.

The Sheshunoff operation will remain in Austin.

Also in May 2004, Austin-based Alex Information, Gabrielle Sheshunoff, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , purchased the publishing section of Sheshunoff Information Services (SIS) from Thomson Media, a division of Thomson Corporation--Thomson as opposed to Thompson--(NL/NL 5/16/04). Sheshunoff founded SIS in 1972 with her husband, Alex Sheshunoff, and sold it to Thomson in 1988. SIS publishes regulatory compliance and management information for financial institutions.
