This comp was mammoth: this comp wasn't epic ...VOLCOM AND MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN Mammoth Mountain is a large lava dome complex[1] that lies to the west of the town of Mammoth Lakes, California in the Inyo National Forest. Mammoth Mountain is home to the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area which is notable in that it gets an unusually large amount of had their first annual contest at the new Volcom Brothers skatepark A skatepark is a purpose-built recreational environment for skateboarders, bmxers and aggressive skaters to ride and develop their sport and technique. A skatepark may contain half-pipes, quarter pipes, handrails, trick boxes, vert ramps, pyramids, banked ramps, full pipes, stairs, . I got asked to judge the contest a few months ago, and figured I could kill two birds with one stone by shooting it also. I also thought it would be the last contest I was asked to judge at the same time. It started by driving up to Mammoth with Matt Mumford, Kyle Berard, Chad Bartie and Mike Peterson Porter Michael "Mike" Peterson (born June 17, 1976 in Gainesville, Florida) is an American football Middle linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. Also played for the Indianapolis Colts from 1999-2002. . We had a standard camp site reserved, but found out later the Volcom crew and others had a field on the edge of town with tents, cars, fires, shrooms, dirt bikes, and live music going on. Those guys know how to do it right! Contest day was going off early in the morning 'til 3 pm, when the runs started. It was an invite-only situation, but a lot of people showed up to skate all weekend. Grosso, Hewitt, Toad, Bailey, Whitedog, and others wee ripping and having a good time. The cops were threatening helmets and no open containers OpenContainers (aka OC) is an open C++ containers library, similar to the C++ Standard Template Library (aka the C++ STL or STL) or Boost library. OpenContainers addresses threading issues (see below) that the STL does not. for the event, but somehow they never showed up to enforce it. How could they? The skaters and the spectating community were having a good time, and Volcom hooked up free, proper food for anybody who was there. Not your standard hotdogs and hamburgers. There were steak tips, sausages, beans, potatoes--the whole nine. There would have been a riot if the cops tried to make people wear helmets and put down the beers. Once the contest started, things were on. Some of the standouts were Tim Johnson from Florida, with a blunt fakie Fakie is, in skateboarding, a synonym for riding backwards on a skateboard. When used in conjunction with a trick name, like "fakie ollie", it means that the trick was performed while with your normal back foot as the front foot on the nose of the board, rather than the back of the on the big wall and a frontside air nosepick on the over-vert above the loveseat. Jimmy Marcus killed every inch of the park and had a good time while doing it--a pure pleasure to watch. Chris Senn Chris Senn may refer to:

He also made the finals. Mike Peterson got drunkest dude out, killing it and having a blast the whole weekend with a new Consolidated sponsor. Bartie threw down back-to-back tricks and good lines throughout the park; Busenitz went fast as hell, snapping ollies over every mogul and styling back Smiths; Benji Galloway had tricks everywhere and of all variations; Caswell would have been a main contender, but he jacked his ankle during practice on a frontside air disaster low to high; and Colin Provost made the contest with a golden ticket and deserved to be in the mix. Since Bartie came up with us, he was a champ by taking the crew to The Chart House and dropping $700.00 of his second place winnings on a fat dinner and drinks. Afterwards, it was back to the Volcom field party for beers, music, and a lot of other things. Looking forward to the contest camp out next year! PHOTOS BY LUKE OGDEN MAMMOTH RESULTS 1.
