This antiblock actually makes films clearer.

In May, we reported on a new antiblock for PE films that causes less haze than conventional antiblocks. Now, the same supplier has come out with the first antiblock that reportedly leaves LLDPE film clearer than the same resin without antiblock. New concentrate 102286 from Ampacet Corp., Tarrytown, N.Y., contains a synergistic mix of a proprietary mineral antiblock, clarifier, and amide slip agent. This masterbatch makes film up to 65% clearer than the base polymer and improves gloss by up to 50%, Ampacet claims. The antiblock particles also have low porosity and thus less tendency to absorb other additives.

In addition to these benefits, product 102286 raises LLDPE crystallization temperature by 13[degrees]F, which allows film lines to run hotter and faster. By improving film clarity and gloss, the new product can reduce the need to blend LDPE into LLDPE films, which can reduce costs.
