This Cult still has a following.

Byline: Lewis Taylor The Register-Guard

Blue Oyster Cult has never had a night that sucks.

At least, that's what rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom says.

"We're always great, and most nights we're better than that," Bloom said in an interview with The Register-Guard in February 2003.

Still "on tour forever," Blue Oyster Cult (B.O.C. to fans) comes to the Jungle on Wednesday for a show that members hope won't break the streak. As long as they serve up the hits - "Don't Fear "Don't Fear" is the third single (in a series of four) by the English band Maps. Released on James Chapman's own label Last Space Recordings (on October 30 2006) prior to the release of their first major release We Can Create. Track listing

Once known as the thinking man's heavy metal band, B.O.C. now features longtime members Bloom, guitarist and keyboardist Allen Lanier and vocalist and lead guitarist Donald `Buck Dharma' Roeser.

B.O.C.'s most recent release, the live album "Long Day's Night," marked its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1967 at the State University of New York (body) State University of New York - (SUNY) The public university system of New York State, USA, with campuses throughout the state.  at Stony Brook campus on Long Island by students (and future rock critics) Sandy Pearlman and Richard Meltzer, the band underwent numerous name changes and personnel shifts. Had it not been for a disastrous gig at the Filmore East in the 1960s, the group might still be known by its original name: Soft White Underbelly.

The band changed its name two more times, becoming Oaxaca and the Stalk-Forrest Group before settling on its current name. B.O.C. signed with Columbia Records in 1971, but wasn't until its fourth studio album, "Agents of Fortune," that the group found its signature melodic hard rock sound and scored with the Byrds-inspired hit "Don't Fear the Reaper"

Some say "Reaper" was Blue Oyster Cult's finest moment, but there are lots of other high points (`Death Valley Nights'), low points (`R.U. Ready to Rock') and three decades worth of live performances - that didn't suck.
