 America, one of the most popular and innovative public television productions ever created will return to the airwaves in a special 20th Anniversary broadcast. THE LATHE lathe (lāth), machine tool for holding and turning metal, wood, plastic, or other material against a cutting tool to form a cylindrical product or part. It also drills, bores, polishes, grinds, makes threads, and performs other operations.  OF HEAVEN, a two-hour film about a man whose dreams reshape reality, will be presented nationally on public television by Thirteen in association with American Public Television American Public Television (APT) is the largest of the television syndication distributors of programming for public television stations in the United States. It began in 1961 as the Eastern Educational Television Network . Thirteen originally produced the program as part of its Television Laboratory in 1980.

In addition, in an exclusive new interview produced by Thirteen and packaged for broadcast with THE LATHE OF HEAVEN, journalist Bill Moyers will talk with Ursula K. Le Guin, acclaimed author of the best-selling 1971 science fiction novel upon which the film was based.

Digitally re-mastered by Thirteen for this encore presentation, THE LATHE OF HEAVEN will be made available to public television stations Thursday, June 1, 2000 (check local listings for air time).
