Originally published in 2004 for the U.S. government sector, the Resource Guide was expanded in 2005 to include both public- and private-sector listings throughout the Americas. Due to the overwhelming demand, (ISC)2 increased distribution of the Resource Guide and added global content to include industry information from 50 countries, including Brazil, Canada, Russia, the United States, Germany, China, Japan and Singapore.

"Now that it includes listings from every major continent, the 2006 Resource Guide is the industry's first comprehensive global almanac, providing professionals with one-stop access to educational and peer networking opportunities and other career-enhancing resources," said Rolf Moulton, CISSP-ISSMP, interim president and chief executive officer of (ISC)2. "It is a 'must-have' publication for information security professionals around the world."

Last year, (ISC)2 distributed tens of thousands of free hard copies of the Americas' Guide at major trade shows and conferences throughout the year, as well as hundreds of thousands of electronic copies via download through industry e-newsletters. Meanwhile, additional copies have been obtained throughout the year online beyond what was originally distributed. In Q4 of 2005, over 20,000 copies of the Guide were downloaded directly from the (ISC)2 Web site.

"(ISC)2 is one of the key independent reference points in the information security industry, which is why Microsoft's Security Partner Competency supports their certifications. This Guide is another example of (ISC)2 leveraging their position and knowledge base to provide great value to the industry as a whole," said Thomas Dawkins, group product manager, Security, Access and Solutions Division, Microsoft Corp.
