Thinner stretch film goes much farther.Intertape Polymer Group, Bradenton Bradenton (brā`dəntən), city (1990 pop. 43,779), seat of Manatee co., SW Fla., on Tampa Bay at the mouths of the Braden and Manatee rivers; inc. 1903. , Fla., recently introduced a new five-layer, single-sided cling cling intr.v. clung , cling·ing, clings 1. To hold fast or adhere to something, as by grasping, sticking, embracing, or entwining: wrap for machine pallet wrap. Called Genesys, it reportedly achieves stretch ratios of 250% to 350% while starting with film 10% to 20% thinner than conventional stretch film. Suppose a customer uses 40,000 lb/yr of 20-in.-wide, 80-gauge Genesys film stretched 200%. Stretching the same film 275% would save 7000 lb/yr of film or 17.5%. Greater stretch and strength are achieved by improved resin resin, any of a class of amorphous solids or semisolids. Resins are found in nature and are chiefly of vegetable origin. They are typically light yellow to dark brown in color; tasteless; odorless or faintly aromatic; translucent or transparent; brittle, fracturing formulation formulation /for·mu·la·tion/ (for?mu-la´shun) the act or product of formulating. They come 20 and 30 in. wide in four gauges from 50 to 95, designed to replace conventional stretch films of 55 to 120 gauge. Tel: (941) 725-5788 * www.intertapepolymer.com [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] |
