 consortium that is doing its best to chase Boeing from the skies, unveiled its biggest bid for dominance Tuesday: The 550-seat A380, a doubledecker leviathan leviathan (lēvī`əthən), in the Bible, aquatic monster, presumably the crocodile, the whale, or a dragon. It was a symbol of evil to be ultimately defeated by the power of good.  whose capacity can be extended to 800 passengers. Northwesterners, whose economic fortunes are tied to Boeing's smaller 7E7 Dreamliner, should hope that bigger doesn't prove better.

In fact, a superjumbo airplane airplane, aeroplane, or aircraft, heavier-than-air vehicle, mechanically driven and fitted with fixed wings that support it in flight through the dynamic action of the air.  seems like a risky bet. Many of the world's airlines are no in position to buy billion-dollar fleets of new planes. Airports would have to be reconfigured for large crowds of passengers and their baggage. And though A380 fliers are promised such amenities as double beds and gyms, those will be for the rich. Ordinary flyers will be be crammed cram
