Celebrating a song-writing powerhouse.Byline: Paul Denison The Register-Guard For Terry Daniels, the best thing about performing in "Smokey Joe's Cafe" is audiences' energetic participation in the revue's steady stream of familiar pop songs from the 1950s and '60s - and their surprise as they realize that all the songs flowed from one prolific team: Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller (with some help from several collaborators including Ben E. King). "The audience reaction has been just awesome, and consistent," says Daniels, who has been on the road for three months with the touring company that's coming to Eugene for a three-night stand beginning Wednesday. Daniels says the worst thing about "Smokey Joe's Cafe" is simply that it's vocally demanding. "It's a hard show to do eight times a week, with all that singing and dancing," he says.
